Aggregate-filled flooring

Quartz, Broadcast & Troweled Systems

Choose the build, texture and finish your space needs.

When a project calls for more than a straightforward coating, aggregate-filled resin flooring offers a wider choice of construction and finish. These systems combine resin with selected mineral aggregates to produce floors with different thicknesses, textures and performance characteristics.

East Coast Coatings installs solid-colour and decorative quartz systems using broadcast and troweled application methods.

Understand the options

Solid-colour broadcast flooring

Incorporates selected mineral aggregate into a wet resin layer and is finished with a compatible pigmented coating. The aggregate and finishing coats influence the final texture.

Decorative quartz broadcast flooring

Uses coloured quartz aggregate sealed beneath compatible transparent finishes. It provides a multi-tonal appearance with texture that can be adjusted through the specified system.

Troweled epoxy flooring

Combines resin and aggregate into a mortar that is spread and compacted at the specified thickness. It can provide a substantial wearing surface for demanding areas and is available in solid-colour and decorative quartz constructions.

Single- and multiple-broadcast options

Allow the assembly to be selected for different build and performance requirements. The appropriate choice depends on the complete system, not simply whether quartz is present.

Balance traction with cleanability

A heavily textured floor and a smoother sealed finish serve different needs. Selection should consider water, oils, footwear, wheeled equipment and the facility's cleaning routine.

Colour blends, resin choice, topcoats and cove details can also be coordinated with the space. A sample helps establish the intended appearance and texture before installation.

Typical applications

Commercial kitchens, laboratories, healthcare facilities, locker rooms, service areas, production spaces and high-traffic institutional environments are potential applications, subject to the selected system's suitability.

Is decorative quartz the same as vinyl flake?

No. Quartz is a mineral aggregate; decorative flakes are coloured chips used to create a different visual finish. Although both may be broadcast into resin, their appearance and system construction differ. The right choice depends on the intended use as well as the look.
